Stank Hot in the Office..
Today at 8am it is already stank hot in the office, I have the feeling that it will be a long day.
Last night was the second day of Creekside Idol and my first appearance as a judge at Joey Chan's. I was amazed at how offended people can get when constructive criticism is given on a performance. I like to think I’m a nice guy, but man did I piss off a lot of people last night.
We were given 3 categories for scoring the contestants,
Personality was an easy place for people to pick up marks, smile, have fun, talk before or after let people get to know you.
Appearance was a hard one, we were asked to judge if people dresses appropriately to their songs. Look comfortable on the stage (easy).
Talent was so tight everyone their could sing, but with a catogoie called ‘Talent’ there were people playing guitar clearly having more ‘talent’ then the karaoke kids.
So if talent is tight most people getting high marks 4/5 - 5/5 the easy place to pick up marks would be in Personality and Appearance.. But ALL contestants didn’t want to hear it.. I think they are giving away $1000, if someone told me that I was at the top of the contest and all I had to do was ware something the next week to match my song.. or smile and talk to people to win.. I would be happy.. But no, being honest made me the bad judge. For the night I was Simon the prick judge from AI, Raj would have been proud (except for participating in ‘reality’ entertainment).
Other then that it was kind of a quite weekend, Raj and I did some yard work. I guess if we are staying in our hose now we should take some pride in the appearance of it.
Mark and I walked into the village yesterday, taking the super long way. It took us almost 2hrs, to get to the gondola building. From there we took off to the top of
Whistler just to hang out. We were to late for lunch, everything was closed except the beer taps!!
So we drank a few pitchers headed down to Behind the Grind to eat (I again have to say, I think there has been nothing in that building for so long people just forget they are there), man they have a great patio with no one on it.. They are also serving beer now, So it’s a win all around!
Oh ya.. Friday night was a bust, we hit the town only to find out that no one was there.. we went to a few bars and pubs, and nothing.. it was a freakin ghost town.
