A Blur of a week

Ok, nice weather is going to keep me from updating this thing.. nice weather and too much work.

Last weekend was Crankworx slope style, it was unreal how huge thoughs guys are going I think I have some photos I’ll try and dig up and post.. De La Sole played right after but 99% of the people that were there were gone before the first song..

After the biking we made our way over to the Summit party, Hawaiian theme much appreciated beers and vodka (ice luge) for shots. Summit party’s are always great, not just because there free.. but because it brings a group of people together that don’t normally hang out together.

Once that was wrapping up we hit Moe Joe’s.. but this point in the day there was not a lot of thinking going on. It was Pete (Bartender or DJ Easyleigh) last day at the bar. Good to see him get a good face full of pie to celebrate his final shift. Pete was the longest standing employee of the bar.

Backtracking to Friday Myers and I hit the town and ended up at hanging out at Dusty’s meeting up with some old friends that were in town for the weekend, up from Vancouver. Great to catch up with them all, but I think the city had taken its toll and they were not into heading to the bar.. but that didn’t stop Myers, Rich and I from going to Moe Joe’s. Sweat Shop Union were playing that night and I had some free passes for the crew..

Turns out they were a little understaffed and as per my contract I jumped on as stage security. It was a little scary knowing that I was in sandles with a few hundred people jumping up and down infront of me.. the crowd was really good, I think on one guy got ejected.. and that was before the guys too the stage.

One of the guys in the band seemed to like me standing in front of him.. he took my sunglasses of my head and wore them for most of the show. Used me to gets lots of height every time he jumped.. I think he even included me in some freestyle lyrics. The perks of standing with your back to the stage was seeing the girls flashing the band, and hot chicks coming to me for protection.

I made it with no one jumping on my toe. That is made it to the end of the night when Casy took a step back and kicked off my toe nail.. Thats righ, my other big toe nail. Thats 2 in less then 3 weeks.. We do have lots of photos again as Myers
thought it was one of the funniest things he had seen since the last one came off. One cool thing about taking that gig (other then the girls flashing) was landing my photo in the Pique again.

(thats an photo of the other toe again, new photos will get here soon)

Speaking of media, I was on Mt FM talking about the National BBQ Championships that are happening this weekend. I might also be doing some live interviews with Dean and Hatch from Rock 101 FM on the weekend.

Myers and I will be head judges this year for the event, and I don’t think we could be looking forward to anything more. As I was waiting for the bus this morning truck loads of smokers were pulling off the highway. By tomorrow afternoon the whole Creekside will smell of the best BBQ’ers in Canada and the US competing for Canadian National Champion.

This week Myers and I went Wakeboarding with Leggie and Green Lake Watersports. I wish I could tell you that I pulled off some great tricks.. Hell I wish I could tell you that either of us got out of the water.. but the sad truth is that we sucked.. There were 2 girls with us that did a great job, no trouble getting out and only a few falls.. Next time..

The old disc golf has been treating us well.. I finally scored under par for the first time this year. At the same time O Jason hit a milestone of -14 unreal.

Man I think we even had a house party since my last post, a lot can happen in a week..
