International ‘Talk Like That Guy From CSI:Miami’ Day

Ahoy!

I’m sure CSI:Miami is a great show, but I rarely watch it as I don’t have enough patience to listen to David Caruso act. That, plus whenever I watch it I have flashbacks to playing Grand Theft Auto Vice City, and GTA is definitely more fun. Anyway, while watching CSI:Miami recently, I had an idea for a fun new activity. It would combine International Talk Like A Pirate Day with imitating That Guy from CSI:Miami. It would be International Talk Like That Guy From CSI:Miami Day. In other words, it’s yet another excuse to act like a jack ass and have some fun.

For those that don’t know, International Talk Like A Pirate Day (TLAPD) is almost upon us again for the year. You may or may not have known this. It’s your one chance all year long to throw down some phrases such as ‘Yarr, matie’ into your speech. Really, can you afford not to take part to some extent in TLAPD? Over the past decade or so, TLAPD has gone from two guys talking like pirates to each other and spread like mildfire thanks to the internet where people all over the world now take part in the day. Ah the internet….where would random jackassery be without you?

So, you’re probably wondering what exactly people do during International Talk Like That Guy From CSI:Miami Day (or ITLTGFCSIMD, and yes we clearly need a better acronym). First of all, the proper pronunciation is probably more like International…Talk Like…That Guy From CSI:Miami…Day, or even International Talk…Like That Guy…From CSI:Miami Day. Practicing both of those pronunciations a few times should give you a good idea of what the day consists. Essentially, the goal is…to pause a few times…each sentence….for dramatic effect.

David Caruso’s character’s name on the show is apparently Horatio Caine. Yes, Horatio. With a name that fucking pretentious, he probably figured it would be expected that he act like a dick, and what better way to do that than to sound annoying?

The only problem is that a date hasn’t been picked yet for ITLTGFCSIMD. It’s hard to have a ‘Day’ without an actual day. Is there a particular good time of year for ITLTGFCSIMD? Maybe a nice, crisp fall day would be best? It’s hard to say.
